ECC horse judging team makes school history

The Ellsworth Community College horse judging team competed in the Region 10 Arabian Horse Association’s Judging Contest in Chatfield, MN on April 1. ECC’s team competed against 20 4H/FFA, AHA, and Collegiate teams that included 75 contestants from Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota.

The team won a total of 40 ribbons and one plaque at the contest. This is the most ribbons won at a single contest by an ECC team. “I couldn’t be more proud of these students,” said Megan Humphrey, ECC horse judging coach. “They have worked so hard to practice and prepare, especially with their reasons. I was thrilled to see them have so much success at their first horse judging contest in 2017!” The team will compete again April 10th in Oklahoma City.

Team Results: 2nd HighTeam overall, 1st team Reasons, 2nd team performance, and 2nd team halter.

Individual Results: Overall – 4th Autumn Bright, 5th – Rebecca Watson, Halter – 4th Rebecca Hart, 5th Rebecca Watson, Performance – 2nd Autumn Bright, 5th – Rebecca Watson, Reasons – 1st Lane Judy, and 4th Autumn Bright.
