Ellsworth Agriculture announces partnership with Morningside College

Ellsworth Community College announced a partnership with Morningside College at a signing on Friday, April 5, 2019. The partnership with MC’s Pathways Program is intended for students interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the areas of Agriculture and Food Science.Dr. William Deeds, Morningside Provost and Dr. Martin Reimer, ECC Provost

Students who are interested can apply as early as the end of their first semester at ECC. A student in the program must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA, complete an Associate’s degree at ECC and can transfer up to 70 academic credits. ECC students in the program will have access to career planning workshops and learning tools, along with invitations to the campus events, according to the agreement. They will be assigned an academic advisor and a current MC student mentor to assist with the transition. Scholarships and financial aid are available for each MCP student.

“This agreement with Morningside College is another example of ECC’s commitment to provide quality learning experiences and ensure success for its students – not just at ECC, but in the next step of their learning journey,” Martin Reimer, ECC Provost, said. “The agriculture faculties from both schools worked extremely hard to ensure that the transition of ECC graduates to Morningside is seamless. This agreement focuses on student success by providing a clear pathway in these chosen fields.”
