ECC Horse Judging Team places at NACTA

Ellsworth Community College’s Horse Judging team and Hippology team competed at the 2019 North America Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture contests, hosted by Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky on April 11-13. The Horse Judging team placed 3rd out of 11 teams and the Hippology team placed 2nd out of 8 teams.NACTA Banquet 2019

During the Hippology competition, team members complete a written exam, identification exam, conformation exam and practical problems with demonstration. The Horse judging team evaluated three halter classes, five performance classes, and give four sets of reasons.

“Both teams really stepped up and worked hard to prepare for this national contest, Megan Humphrey, ECC Horse Judging coach said. “I am so impressed with how far they have come in such a short time frame. They should be very proud of all that they have accomplished this semester – I know I am extremely proud of them!”
