ECC Ag students earn National PAS honors


Eight students represented Ellsworth Community College proudly at the recent 2015 National Postsecondary Agricultural Student (PAS) Conference held in Boise, ID.

Top awards were garnered by six ECC students as follows:

In the Precision Ag Specialist competition, Landon Brown of New Providence earned 1st place honors.

In the Agricultural Sales Specialist competition, Katie Rinkert of Prole earned 2nd place.

In the Career Planning competitions, Thomas Newhall of Dumont earned 2nd place in Ag Processing & Biotechnology and Simon Knutson of Hubbard earned 2nd place in the Ag Power, Systems & Technical category.

In the Career Progress competition, Garrett Worthington of Newton earned 2nd place in Ag Power, Systems & Technical.

In the Equine Specialist competition, Jane Hoffman of Denison earned 3rd place honors.

Other ECC student participants were Garrett McNeely of Jameson, MO, and Brett Stalzer of Haverhill. The Ellsworth students were accompanied to the PAS National Conference by Ag Professor Kevin Butt.
