Dr. Nancy Muecke resigns as ECC Provost
Monday / June 22, 2015
Dr. Nancy Muecke, provost of Ellsworth Community College, has announced her resignation effective June 30. In an email to the ECC faculty and staff, she wrote that she will be relocating to Ankeny to join her husband and be closer to their children and grandsons, as well as her mother.
“I have enjoyed my five years here and am proud of Ellsworth and the good work we do,” she wrote. “I wish you all the very best as you navigate current and future challenges. I trust that you will continue to work together to become the Iowa community college of choice – a college where individual attention begets academic and personal success.”
Dr. Chris Duree, Iowa Valley Community College District Chancellor, says the search for a replacement is under way and he hopes to fill the position as quickly as possible.
“Dr. Muecke has been a key member of the Iowa Valley leadership team for the past five years,” says Dr. Duree. “During this time period we were able to achieve many of our goals, and Nancy played a key role. Of course we fully respect and understand her decision to make more time for her family. At the same time, her dedication and commitment to our students and her leadership in moving Ellsworth and the District forward in positive directions will be missed.”
