Two Ellsworth Community College students competed against other Iowa students at the state Business Professionals of America (BPA) Leadership Conference Feb. 21-22 in Des Moines, and both are now eligible to advance to the national competition.
Mette Ehrhardt of Iowa Falls: 1st place in Interview Skills; 1st place in Management, Marketing & Human Resources Concepts; 5th place in Project Management Concepts; and 6th place in Basic Office Systems & Procedures.
Crosley Ryan of Eldora: 1st place in Advanced Spreadsheet Applications, 2nd place in Intermediate Word Processing, and 5th place in Payroll Accounting.
Their advisors, Janet Siert and Tina Ruch-Wesselmann, commended the women for doing so well. “These students did well in numerous competitions, and both are now eligible to advance to the National BPA Conference May 2-7 in Boston, which will be a tremendous personal and professional development opportunity.”
For the 13th consecutive year, ECC took home the trophy for Corporate Sponsorship, thanks to the generous financial support received from Cort and Peg Van Buskirk.
