Ellsworth Community College Library offers state-wide book return

COVID19 had required many businesses and services to find creative solutions to new and unique challenges.  Sandra Greufe, Library Services Manager at Ellsworth Community College, and her staff were no different.

“I was notified by the University of Iowa Libraries that they were developing a plan to a return of their materials from students across the state through the Iowa Academic Library Alliance.  They asked if other libraries were interested in assisting college students across the state, and I thought it would be a great way for Osgood Library to offer our help to both ECC’s local students and any other college students who may need it,” said Greufe.

Students who have borrowed library books from any college in the state of Iowa can drop off their books to be returned at Osgood Library on ECC’s campus beginning on June 1.  The book drop-off will continue throughout June.

The process to return a book is simple.  Come to campus between 8 AM and 3:30 PM Monday – Wednesday or 8 AM – 1 PM on Thursday and Friday, find the plastic tote located at the Northside of Kruse Main, near the new Panther wood carving, and place your books inside!

“We will collect books during June, and at the end of the month we will send them back to the correct college,” explained Greufe of the book return process.
