Ellsworth continues next phase to reopen the Dale Howard Family Activity Center

IOWA FALLS – Beginning April 5 the Dale Howard Family Activity Center will begin the next phase to reopening fully to the community.  Hours will remain the same for community members’ use on Monday through Friday 5:30 – 9:30 AM and 5 – 8 PM and 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday.  The primary change is that now more youth are able to return to the DHFAC.

Though the doors are open to a wider range of ages, there are still other stipulations.  Youth must currently have a membership, be 16 or older, and have a valid ID.  Additionally, the gym and pickleball courts will open for all individuals with memberships and who fit the age requirements.

Space will be limited to allow for social distancing guidelines, so anyone who wishes to use the gym or pickleball courts must call the front desk prior to visiting the activity center.  At any given time, only two hoops will be open in the gym, with a maximum of 5 people per hoop.  Youth must be accompanied by an adult.  Those age 16 or older may reserve a hoop for an individual slot so long as they present a valid ID upon entry.  Individuals within the same household may use the same basket and timeslot. Local high school students taking dual credit classes at ECC that have an ECC student ID may only utilize the activity center during the student hours of 10 – 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, and 12 – 5 PM Saturday and Sunday.

For questions or to reserve a space in the gym or pickleball court, call the Dale Howard Activity Center front desk at (641) 648-8712.
