Kylie Burke of Aplington, IA, is a freshman studying Nursing. In addition to her classwork, she participates in the Impact (Christian ministry and Bible study) club.
“I chose Ellsworth because my dream is to be a nurse. ECC has awesome nursing licensure exam passage rates, and small class sized make learning easier and fun. ECC is close to home, and it was definitely the right choice for me! Personally, I think the best thing about Ellsworth is the size. There are plenty of fun, awesome people to meet here, but it’s still small enough that your professors know you on a first-name basis. There are so many activities on campus that I don’t have to feel overwhelmed. It’s easy to be involved.
“At the beginning of the school year ECC does a three-day freshman orientation called Panther Pursuit. You spend time getting to know others in your class. You get to hang out a karaoke night, see a comedian, listen to motivational speakers, and more. It was an awesome start to the year and a great way to meet and make memories with classmates!
“ECC offers both the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) and Associate Degree Nursing (RN) programs. Once I’ve completed the RN degree, I plan to transfer and earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, then enter the workforce.”
