Welding Training at Iowa Valley Community College

Welders build and repair the equipment, structures, and pipelines Iowa runs on. Manufacturers in central Iowa hire welders year-round, and construction and utility contractors need them too.

Iowa Valley's welding courses cover gas metal arc (MIG), flux-cored arc, and shielded metal arc (stick) welding. Training is aligned to the American Welding Society's SENSE Level 1 standards, so you finish ready to test for the certifications local employers ask for. Choose a one-semester certificate or a full diploma, start in fall or spring, and earn college credit in high school through concurrent enrollment.
