Ellsworth Community College Honors Students at 2025 Reception

IOWA FALLS, IA – Last night, Ellsworth Community College celebrated the outstanding achievements of its students during the highly anticipated 2025 Honors Reception, held Thursday, April 24. The annual event brought the Ellsworth community together for an evening of recognition, reflection, and Panther pride.

This year’s reception highlighted both academic and athletic excellence, with 68 awards presented throughout the evening. Over 40 Academic Excellence Awards were given to students across a wide variety of programs, recognizing dedication in the classroom and in service to others. In addition, two Faculty Awards, selected by the student body, honored Demarion Harper and Scott “Kauz” Kauzlarich for their outstanding contributions to student success.

The night also celebrated Ellsworth’s athletic achievements. Ana Clara Cuartero was named Top Female Athlete of the Year, while Boston Doeschot received Top Male Athlete of the Year honors. Student Ambassador of the Year awards went to Gabrielle Burton, Nora Ryan, and Tate Tentinger for their leadership and commitment to welcoming future Panthers.

Ellsworth Dean of Academic Affairs, Honória Baloghova, shared her pride in the evening’s celebrations: “The Honors Reception is always one of the highlights of the year. It gives us a moment to pause and truly appreciate the extraordinary talent, resilience, and leadership of our students. They represent the very best of Ellsworth.”

Tanner Lascheid, Ellsworth’s Student Engagement Director, also reflected on the importance of the evening: “Seeing our students celebrated for their hard work, both in the classroom and beyond, is what makes events like this so special. The excitement in the room last night was unforgettable.”

Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees. You continue to make Ellsworth proud!

As we reflect on these achievements, we also look ahead to Commencement on Friday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in Dittmer Gymnasium, where we will celebrate the incredible Class of 2025.
