Ellsworth Brings Home Coveted Premier Chapter Trophy from Iowa PAS Conference

Ellsworth Community College traveled to the 2022 Iowa PAS Spring Leadership Conference last month where they excelled in multiple events. PAS stands for Professional Agriculture Student Organization. One of the highlights from their trip was bringing home the coveted “Premier Chapter” trophy which is calculated on points earned throughout the year with local, state, and national activities. The trophy is now on display in the Ag Center on the Hamilton Campus in Iowa Falls.

“PAS is a great opportunity for students to take their knowledge and skills from class and apply them to real world problems and issues. The interactions and networking with peers and industry partners further prepares the students for their careers in the agriculture industry,” said Eric Weuve, ECC Agriculture Professor.

More results from the Iowa PAS Conference:

  • All of the students qualified in one or more events for the National PAS Conference next month!
    • Ellsworth will be well represented at Nationals with 20 students attending conferences during spring break.
  • Two Ellsworth students, Liliana Hill and Kennedy Eskildsen, retired as State PAS Officers.
  • Austin Strayer was elected as a State Vice President for the coming year, and Jayda Nehl was elected as State Secretary.
