Ellsworth Community College Students Shine at National PAS Conference in Wyoming

Iowa Falls, IA – Ellsworth Community College (ECC) students and faculty are celebrating a successful and unforgettable experience at the 2025 National PAS Conference, held last week in Sheridan, Wyoming. A group of thirteen (13) students, along with four (4) faculty and staff members, represented ECC with pride – and they certainly made their mark! With impressive results across several categories, ECC’s agricultural programs showcased the exceptional talent, hard work, and dedication of their students.

Here are some of the standout highlights from the conference:

  • Ag Sales: Tate Tentinger placed 2nd overall, showing off his impressive skills in the competitive world of ag sales.
  • Career Progress Environment Service Systems: David Van Dyke earned 1st place overall, proving his expertise in environmental services.
  • Equine Specialist Team: The team of Ravinia Zillmer, Caitlyn Bjoraker, and Karlee Young claimed 1st place overall, with Ravinia Zillmer also taking 1st place individually and Caitlyn Bjoraker following closely in 2nd place individually.

In addition to these outstanding performances, ECC students also competed in Ag Education, Employment Interview, Farm Business Management, Precision Ag, and College Bowl – each showing tremendous skill and determination.

Beyond the competitions, the conference provided students with opportunities to engage in agricultural and natural resource tours of the scenic Sheridan area, network with peers from across the country, and enjoy a variety of student activities and sightseeing. It was a fantastic experience that combined learning, growth, and fun.

“We are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our students demonstrated at the National PAS Conference,” said Kevin Butt, ECC’s Agricultural Program Director. “Their success reflects the strength of our agricultural programs and the passion our students have for their future careers in agriculture.”
