ECC to Host North Central Iowa Crop Summit

Ellsworth Community College will host the North Central Iowa Crop Summit on February 24. The event will be hosted at the Ag and Equine Center on the Hamilton Campus in Iowa Falls. Registration begins at 8:00 am in the Equine Center. Eric Wilson, Agronomy Manager for Wyffels Hybrids will kick off the summit at 9:00 am, followed by presenters from education and industry.

  • Dennis Todey, Director of Midwest Climate Hub

Attendees will hear from keynote speaker, Eric Wilson, Agronomy Manager for Wyffels Hybrids. Morning speakers include Ag Outlook, Dr. Chad Hart, ISU Extension Economist, Nitrogen Research, Melissa Miller, Iowa Nitrogen Initiative, and Flexible Cash Leases, Kelvin Leibold, ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist. Afternoon speakers include Changes to Iowa Tax Code, Kristine Tidgren, Center for Ag Law and Taxation, New Comm. DOT Rules & Regulations, Job Huisman, Iowa DOT Enforcement Officer, and In Season Manure Management, Dr. Kapil Arora, ISU Extension Ag Engineer. The capstone session will be Crop Weather Outlook for the 2023 Growing Season by Dr. Dennis Todey, Director of the Midwest Climate Hub, USDA.
